Happy 4th!
-->It’s a great day today, it’s independence day and a holiday for me. A break from work and a good day to update my blog.
As you noticed I changed my front page to a map so I can show you where in the world I was in a particular day. Great job google!
My Map
-->I got the urge to buy an iPhone so I researched on where I can buy one in Apple’s website. Ok, I found the link to search for an apple store near me. Great! I chose my state, eureka! I found one. Now where is this store? So I got the address and google mapped it and now I know where it is. Not bad, just 30min drive from my place.
So I went off to buy?? No way! I got sidetracked because in google map, I noticed the link “My Map”, I wonder what that is. I clicked and wow! I found a great item to add to my website. But how?
Read, read read, then I saw a Learn More button, so I clicked it and was sent to the official google maps API blog, then read, read read and saw links to posts that link to the blog. Cool!
I browsed each (running my cursor down and looking at the URL shown on my browser) then found a nice looking url and clicked on it. I was beamed to a blog, read, read read and then found a comment that points to a blog that points to a blog that offers a wordpress plugin. Voila! I have a map plugin and a new My Map page.
How cool is that?!
Now, how did I get to google map and WP plugin? I was looking to buy an iPhone!!!
Ok, Where’s my iPhone??
-->All of my friends who know me very well are asking if I bought an iPhone. They know that whenever Apple releases a new gadget (powerbook, imac, ipod etc) I’m usually the first who gets one. Well, the iPhone was just released but I still don’t have the urge to get one. I’m not sure why. I think I need to see a doctor.
However, I have friends who got theirs and I will probably just borrow one and see/feel the new gadget that I just missed (at lease the first release). I’m sure I’m going to get one in the (near) future as I’ve been googling it. I have visited a Cingular (now AT&T) store in the guise of looking for a case for my blackberry pearl (they said they were sold, the first few hours they were open). I’m planning to borrow one to see/feel it. It’s just like anything else when I want a gadget I take all the time to “see” and “feel” and in no time, I have one.
OK. Time to end this non-sense. I have to visit a friend. I’ll see you later! ![]()
